IFC - Self Led Pathway
Unveil the secrets of the most used data modelling standard in BIM!!
Unveil the secrets of the most used data modelling standard in BIM!!
BIM (Building Information Modelling), or construction information modelling, is a new architecture, engineering, and civil construction paradigm. It is the process or method of digitizing information models in the civil construction industry that accompanies the entire life cycle of the project, from its conception phase through construction and operation to its demobilization.
Given this industry’s great segmentation, an open and transparent standard for modelling this information becomes necessary. This standard is IFC.
Although many think that IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) is a file format, it is actually an international data modelling standard standardized by ISO 16739 for exchanging and sharing information about BIM models.
How can this course help you?
Unfortunately, little information is available about the IFC structure. If you have tried to understand the specification on the BuildingSmart page, you’ve realized that it’s not easy!
With more than eight years of experience in the BIM field, I still understood little about IFC. Although I looked for courses here in Brazil or internationally, I never found anything that thoroughly explained the IFC data structure. For over two years, I researched standards, consulted professionals, participated in forums from various parts of the world, and studied the IFC specification in depth.
The result was the compilation of this knowledge in this course, which I bring to the general public, exclusively presenting the secrets of the IFC standard data structure.
Who is this course for?
If you already have some knowledge of BIM, whether in modelling or just theoretical, then you can take advantage of all the content, even if you have never heard of IFC. Even if you have never worked with IFC, your knowledge will be enriched, although the benefit will be greater for those who already have a small notion of IFC. A minimum knowledge of BIM fundamentals is necessary.
Ideally, you should already work in the field, regardless of your background.
